I started publishing this blog in the summer of this year. I had a hunch there were many service business owners; plumbers, electricians, pressure washers, maintenances companies, roofers, and many other tradesmen out there looking for help growing and operating their business.
Hell I’m one of them. I’ve found very few regularly updated and active resources for home service entrepreneurs online. While there is no shortage of information on how to operate you ‘work from home’ business, or ‘tech start-up’ little of that stuff applies in the trades. So I started this blog and this Facebook Group (exclusively for owners & managers).
At the end of 2017, the website gets about 200 visitors per day. Not bad at all. And I’ve got over 25 blog posts already scheduled for the upcoming months, many more draft, and over 100 topics I might cover soon.
Over the 50 or so that have been published, let’s take a look at the ones that have been the most popular!
For 2018, besides many more awesome blog posts in the pipeline, I am also working on an online course covering the exact Facebook marketing strategy I use for my company.
But for 2017 here were the most read posts!
It seems that finances are an interest as the 2 most popular are about finances.

Is One Number Throwing Off Your #1 Key Performance Indicator?
Your key performance Indicators are like gauges that provide you with information. Information you need to operate your business efficiently, to react quickly, and keep it from blowing up. But most home service business owners operate with little, or no idea of their current gauge readings.
While there are many vitals, in a trades business the labor efficiency rate is the number one I find to keep things running profitably.
I cover this labor efficiency rate in this post, along with an error many business owners make.

Naturally Qualifying ‘Free Estimate’ Requests On The First Call
Free estimates… every new prospect starts out with a request for a free estimate. But if we did ‘free estimates’ all day, nothing would get done. As with sales in any business, where the purchase can’t be completed by scanning a barcode, prospects will need to be qualified to use your time efficiently.
In this post I cover how to go about it, without coming of as ‘salesy’

No Pressure: Close More Sales By Softly Taking Down The Barrier
I don’t like salesmen, and neither do our customers. While I have studied and been trained in classic sales techniques, I’m not comfortable with that — no body likes it . At the same time if you just ‘give a bid’ you’ll sell very little. In this post I cover was I do to bring leads closer to customers.
